| The Dutch Cultural Participation Fund which aims to encourage Dutch citizens to participate in arts, culture and everything that comes along with that, gave Neeltje Graphic Design & Martijn Frank Dirks the assignment for their corporate identity during a pitch. The thought behind the idea for the corporate identity was to replace some letters by strong recognizable symbols to illustrate the versatility of the many elements the fund reflects in the Dutch community. Also, employees could pick their own cultural symbols for their business cards. Since this playful idea works so profoundly with the mission statement of the fund, we suggested to incorporate the same philosophy in an interior design for their new headquarters in Utrecht. The employees were asked to choose the cultural themes for their departments and other rooms, to be presented by theme-related illustrations, furniture items and lighting and by the symbols that went along with them on doors and walls. |
